    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today we had sunny skies. The winds were from the west at 5-10 mph and the temperatures were around 90 degrees.  

    On the Buxton beach today we had sea mullet and pompano caught.  Out on the Frisco beach only some sea mullet were reported.   The Hatteras beach had a pretty good day with puppy drum, sea mullet, pompano and even some spanish mackerel were caught.

    The inshore boats caught some big red drum and speckled trout in the Pamlico Sound today.  The offshore fishing was good today.  Some excellent catches of dolphin, a few wahoo and blackfin tuna were reported.   Several marlin were spotted today with only a few sailfish and blue marlin released.  Below is the “Bite Me” charter boat with their sailfish release today.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was sunny all day. The winds were from the south-east at 5-10 mph and the temperatures were in the upper 80’s.  Pretty much like yesterday.

    On the Buxton beach today sea mullet and pompano were reported.  Out on the Frisco beach some sea mullet, puppy drum and pompano were reported.   Down on the Hatteras beach croakers and sea mullet were caught.

    The inshore boats caught some more big red drum and cobia in the Pamlico Sound today.  The offshore fishing was decent today.  Some dolphin, wahoo and blackfin tuna were reported.   The picture below is Jake Worthington’s 31 1/2lb dolphin caught today aboard the “Swordfish” charter boat.  Most of the Dolphin caught today were a larger size.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was mostly sunny all day. The winds were from the south-east at 5-10 mph and the temperatures were in the upper 80’s.

    On the Buxton beach only some sea mullet were reported.  Over on the Frisco and Hatteras beach some sea mullet, croaker and pompano were reported.   There were some big drum caught down at Hatteras Inlet in late last night.

    The inshore boats caught some puppy drum in the Pamlico Sound today.  The offshore fishing conditions were much better today.  Good catches wahoo, a few dolphin and blackfin tuna were reported.  One blue marlin was released.  The Picture below is Karlene Ballance  with a puppy drum she caught in the Pamlico Sound yesterday.  Pretty work Karlene!!!

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was mostly rainy in the morning with partly sunny skies most of the day. The winds were from the south-east at 5-15 mph and the temperatures were in the upper 80’s.

    On the Buxton beach only some sea mullet, croaker and bluefish were reported.  Over on the Frisco and Hatteras beach the seas were a little rough and some sea mullet, croaker and pompano were reported.   There are still some big drum and puppy drum down at Hatteras Inlet in the evenings.

    The inshore boats had good citation red drum catches in the Pamlico Sound today.  The offshore fishing was pretty rough.  Good catches of blackfin tuna, a few dolphin, wahoo and skipkacks were reported.

    Day 3 of 3 fishing days in the 9th Annual Hatteras Grand Slam offshore fishing tournament had 1 blue marlin, 2 white marlin and 2 sailfish released today.  Click the link to see the final standings.  As of the time of this report there were no final postings.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was mostly cloudy with rain showers most of the day. The winds were from the south-west at 5-10 mph and the temperatures were in the low 80’s.

    On the Buxton beach only some sea mullet were reported.  Over on the Frisco beach sea mullet, sheepshead and pompano were reported.   The Hatteras beach had croaker spot and sea mullet caught.

    The inshore boats had good speckled trout catches and a few cobia caught n the Pamlico Sound today.  The offshore fishing was pretty good for the weather being not so good.  Good catches of blackfin tuna, a few dolphin and king mackerel were reported.  There were 2 white marlin released today.

    Day 2 of 3 fishing days in the 9th Annual Hatteras Grand Slam offshore fishing tournament had 3 blue marlin, 4 white marlin released and a sailfish released today.  Click the link to keep track of hook  ups and releases and current standings.
