• Hatteras Island Fishing Report

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island:

Today in Frisco we had windy weather with mostly cloudy skies.  The winds were from the north-east at 10-20 mph with gusts up to 28 mph and the temperatures were in the low 70’s. The Avon and Buxton beaches are pretty rough with no fish caught.  The water clarity on the south beach was excellent this afternoon.  There were some nice pompano and sea mullet caught on the Frisco beach.  The big blues showed up over ramp 49 yesterday, so there still around.  The final day of the Hatteras Village Offshore Open fishing tournament was today.  Boy it was pretty rough but fishable.  “Galot III” placed first 515 lbs, second went to “Waste Knot II” 461 lbs and third place was “Wired Up” 429 lbs.  A great job by all the boats fishing and thank you for business.

The “Swordfish” released the first blue marlin of the last day.

Today the weather in Frisco was windy and overcast with spots of rain.  We had north-east winds 15-20 mph with gusts to 30 mph and the temperatures were in the low 70’s.  With the windy conditions the fishing was slow.  There were some sea mullet and a few puppy drum caught on the more fishable south beach in Frisco.  One boat did fish inshore today.  They caught good spanish mackerel and bluefish.  No charter boats were fishing offshore due to the rough conditions, but 4 Hatteras Village Offshore Open fishing tournament boats did fish.  There were no billfish caught, only some gaffer dolphin and there was one change in the leader board from yesterday.  Below is the gaffer dolphin, 19.9 lbs that won the daily meat fish division caught aboard the “Swordfish” charter boat today.
