I know a lot of our customers were interested if the Frisco Pier was in worse shape then before Hurricane Irene. I have some Photgraphs of the pier as of this morning so you can make the call.
Thank You for your posts.
We are doing well down on the southern end of Hatteras Island. Here at the Frisco Rod and Gun we just had internet and cell service hooked back up. Avon to Rodanthe took the worst hit. Salvo, Waves, Rodanthe by far has the most damage by sound side flood waters, up to 10 feet in places. We have multiple cuts in hwy 12 at Mirlo Beach and just north a little bit in Pea Island. Two of them are considered inlets and the other ones are just washed out holding water. We have a fuel truck that has just fill us back up with regular unleaded and diesel. We have a grocery truck coming down sometime on Friday and UPS and the USPS service is running again. Thank you to all of our customers and everyone who has been thinking of us. Please keep the Salvo,Waves, Rodanthe and Avon residents in your prayers. They have a long road ahead of them to get back to a normal way of life. Any help for those residents would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You.
Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Hurricane Irene update for Hatteras Island.
At 6am this morning we finished boarding up the store. Special thanks to Creature, Captain of Sea Creature sport fishing, who was driving by on his way to Hatteras village to check on his boat, and stopped to help us. He reported seeing ocean overwash near Frisco pier.
As the picture below shows, the Pamlico Sound has completely receded, leaving many boats in the mud.
More updates to come as the sound water returns. Everyone stay safe!
