The weather was fair today. We reached the record high today at 92 degrees. Temperatures ranged from high 80’s to low 90’s all day. The wind didn’t have much of a direction or a velocity today. There was very little to no breeze whatsoever.
Beach Fishing was alright for those who endured the heat. Sea mullet, nice size pompano, and flounder were scattered on the south beach today.
Inshore charters had a slow day today. Only a few speckled trout were reported to Hatteras Harbor.
Offshore fishing was pretty good today. Reports of a good dolphin bite, along with scattered wahoo and blackfin tuna. There were a total of 8 billfish caught today. The Hatteras Blue caught 1 blue marlin, the Gambler caught 3 white marlin, the Native Son caught 1 white marlin and the Big Eye, Release, and Tuna Duck all caught 1 sailfish.
Tomorrow the wind is supposed to kick up 11 mph out of the ESE. Calling for scattered thunderstorms with a 40% chance of rain as well. Temperatures, low to mid 80’s. With a little breeze fishing might be more bearable tomorrow.
