• Outer Banks Fishing Report 11-1

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island:

Today’s weather has improved a little.  It has been mostly sunny and the winds have dropped a little bit.  The winds were from the north-east at 15 mph and the temperatures are in the low 60’s.  The rest of the week is going to warm up to the mid 60’s and the north-east winds are supposed to drop to 5-15 mph the rest of the week.  We had a pretty good morning bite at Cape Point of bluefish and a few puppy drum and about 6 drum over 40 inches caught there too.  The Frisco beach had some bluefish and we weighed in a 27″ puppy drum from ramp 49.  The Hatteras beaches had good bluefish bites and also some small speckled trout.  No boats fishing inshore or offshore today.

Early this morning the winds were calm and the temperatures were in the upper 60’s.  Well that did not last long.  It’s been mostly cloudy and the winds switched to the north-west at 20-30 mph and temperatures dropped to the low 50’s.  Well Cape Point did produce some drum of all sizes this morning.  One fish at 46 inches and another about that size.  Some puppy drum and a couple of drum just over 30 inches were also caught.  Down the beach towards Frisco and to Hatteras some sharks and skates were reported with a few bluefish mixed in.  No boats fished today.
