Hatteras Island Fishing Report

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island. Another beautiful day on the island.  We had clear skies, a light south-east breeze and temperatures in the mid 70’s.  This afternoon, the wind switched a little and blew straight out of the south and became a little cloudy. Today was a good day to be on the beach fishing.  Buxton beaches had small bluefish, sea mullet and blow toads.  For those that made the walk to Cape Point this evening, it was worth it, citation red drum.  Ramp 49 had a few puppy drum, sea mullet and blow toads.  Ramp 55 in Hatteras had flounder, blow toads and sea mullet.  Pictured below is Kenny Minnes, Kevin McCabe, Brett Barley’s citation red drum and a nice sunset pic from Cape Point. The inshore boats had a good day on the red drum, in the sound and the inlet.  The offshore fleet had catches of dolphin, blackfin tuna and kin mackerel.  The bottom fishing was good also, catches of trigger fish, grouper and b-liners.  Pictured below is a 51lb grouper caught on  Bluefin Sportfishing.
