Hatteras Island Fishing Report

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

What a beautiful day we had here on Hatteras Island.  Sunny skies with a high around 78F.  It was a cool start to the morning, but warmed up quick once the sun came up.  Light WNW winds this morning, switching to the SW after lunch around 5 mph.

Avon beach had sea mullet and a 40″ cobia.  Buxton beach had reports of sea mullet, pompano, small flounder and black drum.  Frisco beaches report sea mullet and pompano.  Hatteras beach reports small flounder, small bluefish, pompano and sea mullet.

Inshore boats caught puppy drum and cobia.  It was also good clamming.  Check out The Hook Up Charter and their mess of clams.

The offshore boats had a beautiful ride out this morning.  They had to work hard to get the dolphin today.  There were a few gaffer dolphin, with a few smaller ones in the mix.  There were quite a few billfish release today as well.  The boats that bottom fished caught lots of triggerfish and sea bass.  Pictured below is the Marlin Mania with a Marlin release.

The Bluefin Sportfishing took the Paralyzed Veterans of America out today.  Looks like they had a good time and caught some Spanish mackerel.
