Here is your Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks fishing report for Hatteras Island:
The weather was nice today as the temperatures were in the mid to upper 80’s and the wind blew out of the east at 5-10 mph. We also had clear sunny skies throughout the day, except for early on this morning when we had a small thunderstorm.Beach Fishing was great today. We had pompano, sea mullet, bluefish, spanish mackerel, spot, and one 26″ puppy drum. The pompano seem to be acting a little different from normal. Usually you would catch them just a few feet into the surf, today they were catching them on the bar instead.
Inshore Charters had reports of good spanish mackerel, bluefish, and speckled trout. It was a pretty day all around out in the water.
Offshore Charters also had a nice catches today. Reports of boats limiting out on dolphin, both bailers and gaffers, as well as a few wahoo and scattered blackfin tuna. One sailfish was caught today by the Sea Creature..
Tomorrow there is a 40% chance of rain, with PM Thunderstorms. The wind is also supposed to switch to the SW at 15-20 mph.
