7-6-11 Outer Banks Fishing Report

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks fishing report for Hatteras Island.

Today’s weather on Hatteras Island was fair. Temperatures were in the low to mid 80’s. Winds blew out of the west for the majority of the day. Tonight the wind is supposed to switch around back to the south west. Winds are expected to be 10-15 mph tomorrow. There is also a chance of thunderstorms, with an 80% chance of rain.

Beach Fishing on Hatteras Island was slow today. Very few reports of much of anything other than stingrays. There were still reports of extremely scattered pompano and sea mullet.

Inshore Charter guides had a decent day today. Speckled trout and bluefish were caught throughout the entire fleet.

Offshore Charters had a decent day as well. Dolphin fishing was good and a few amberjack were caught. Also scattered wahoo and blackfin tuna as well. There were 4 billfish, all sailfish, caught amongst the fleet. Charters that caught the fish were: Boss Lady, Gambler, Lucky Chip, and Tuna Duck.

Tomorrow might not be the best fishing conditions, but sometimes you catch the biggest fish in the worst weather.
