Hatteras Island Fishing Report

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island:

Another warm day with a few rain showers.  We had south-west winds 10 mph and the temperatures were in the low 70’s.  Around Cape Point today there were blow toads, bluefish and some big sharks and skates.  The big drum should be biting at Cape Point tonight.  With a south-west wind and the inshore boats catching around 30 today just off the Point chances are good.  The offshore bite was pretty good today.  Good catches of blackfin tuna up to 26 lbs and some nice size gaffer dolphin with some wahoo’s mixed in.  Yesterday a private boat released a blue marlin.  A stud 60 lb dolphin was caught out of Hatteras today.  Below is the picture from Odens Dock.

Sea Striker Sea Birds
are an excellent teaser to use in front of a primary lure. Birds are effective teasers when used individually or in a daisy chain.  The blackfin tuna are all over birds with small squids in a daisy chain here off of the Hatteras coast.
