Hatteras Island Fishing Report

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island. We had sunny skies and cooler temperatures again today.  The winds were from the north-east at 5 mph and the temperatures were in the low 50’s. Our sand road at Mirlo Beach is still passable and could be all week with the forecast of light winds and the ocean swell much smaller.

Fishing was slow today.  There were a few sea mullet caught out at Cape Point along with sharks and skates.  On the Frisco beach sharks and skates were reported along with one small flounder.  On the Hatteras beach some puppy drum and a few speckled trout were reported.

Only a few private boats fished offshore today.  They caught a variety of fish.  Some nice yellowfin tuna, a few blackfin tuna, amberjacks, albacore and a bunch of triggerfish.
