Hatteras Island Fishing Report

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

Today we had a mixture of clouds and sun with temperatures in the low 80’s.. The winds were out of the north-east around 5mph for most of the day.

On the Frisco beach the were small pompano, sea mullet and flounder. The Buxton beaches had flounder, spots, croakers, sea mullet and small pompano. Cape Point had a early morning spanish mackerel and bluefish bite. The spanish mackerel showed back up at Cape Point this evening. The Hatteras beaches had pompano, flounder, small bluefish and small sea mullet.

The boats that fished inshore caught some gray and speckled trout, spanish mackerel and bluefish.

The offshore fishing was good today. There were 3 blue marlins released today. The boats had limits of wahoos, with a few citations. There were also a few dolphin and blackfin tuna caught.  The picture below is the Whatever Sport Fishing’s catch of wahoo and tuna.
