Hatteras Island Fishing Report

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

Today was mostly sunny. We had north winds 10-15 mph and the temperatures were in the upper 50’s

On the Buxton beaches puppy drum, sea mullet and black drum were caught.   Out at Cape Point puppy drum and bluefish catches were pretty good today.  On the Frisco beach puppy drum, little bluefish and small flounder were caught. around Frisco Pier. Down on the Hatteras beach puppy drum, bluefish and flounder were reported.

The final standings for the 56th Annual Cape Hatteras Anglers Club Surf Fishing Tournament were:

1st overall- Atlantic Surf Anglers:369 points.

2nd overall-New Jersey Surf Casters:246 points

3nd overall-Slammin Sammie’s Hurricanes:226 points

1st Womens-The Stormy Gales:175 points.

No inshore reports. The offshore boats that fished today caught good dolphin and wahoo with a few king mackerel and blackfin tuna.  The triggerfish and vermillion snapper fishing was pretty good too.  The picture below is a 24 lb king mackerel caught aboard the Miss Hatteras Head boat today.
