Hatteras Island Fishing Report

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

Today we had mostly sunny skies with light winds.  The winds were from the west at 5-10 mph and the temperatures were in the low 80’s.

On the Avon and Buxton beaches some sea mullet, pompano, spot and bluefish were reported.   Out at Cape Point in Buxton good catches of spanish mackerel and bluefish.  The Frisco beach over Ramp 49 had real good sea mullet fishing.  Down on the Hatteras beaches near the inlet there were flounder, bluefish, a few sea mullet and pompano.

The inshore boats had really good puppy drum fishing.  A few keeper flounder and good gray trout were reported.

The offshore boats had a few wahoo and dolphin catches.

St Croix Mojo Surf Casting

It’s fine to show off your new Mojo Surf rod to that special someone. Heck, you can even go into excruciating detail about how great they perform and how strong SCII graphite makes them. But when you get to the weight-saving surf guides, drop it there. Any mention of anything that would make it easier to stay out longer could take the conversation – as an obligated parent, partner or significant other – in a direction you don’t want to go, if you know what we mean.
