Hatteras Island Fishing Report

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

Today was a great day to be out fishing or even enjoying the beautiful day. The temperature was in the lower 80’s and the wind was south-east at 5-10mph.

The fishing was good everywhere today. Avon had reports of spot, pompano, sea-mullet, croaker, bluefish, and even some puppy drum from the beach. In Buxton the pompano, spot, sea-mullet, and bluefish were biting. From the Frisco beach there was some sea-mullet and bluefish. In Hatteras the sea-mullet spot and bluefish were biting.

The big red drum showed up today with a citation released back in the sound. the speckeled trout and puppy drum were still biting again today.

Amado Campos of Clifton Va caught this citation 8lb. 2oz. sheepshead in the sound near Ocracoke from his kayak.

St Croix Mojo Surf Spinning

It’s fine to show off your new Mojo Surf rod to that special someone. Heck, you can even go into excruciating detail about how great they perform and how strong SCII graphite makes them. But when you get to the weight-saving surf guides, drop it there. Any mention of anything that would make it easier to stay out longer could take the conversation – as an obligated parent, partner or significant other – in a direction you don’t want to go, if you know what we mean.
