Hatteras Island Fishing Report

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

We had clear skies, a high around 85F and southwest winds 10-15 mph.  Such a beautiful way to spend your Labor Day holiday.  We hope everyone enjoyed the last “big” holiday before school starts back.  We wish everyone safe travels.

Cape Point had reports of spanish mackerel and bluefish this afternoon and this evening.  Just to show how unique Hatteras Island is and especially Cape Point, a bonefish was caught off the Point this evening.  Here is a picture of the bonefish and the gentleman who caught it.  You just never know….

Frisco beach had reports of sea mullet, pompano and bluefish.  Hatteras beach reports spot and sea mullet.

Inshore boats caught red drum, bluefish and undersized cobia released.  Here’s a picture of Jack Revere with his drum.  Nice fish Jack!!

The offshore boats had excellent catches of dolphin and wahoo, some boats catching limits of both.  Some of the bottomfish brought in were amberjacks and blueline tilefish.  There were two sailfish released today.
