Hatteras Island Fishing Report

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

Today we had rain early this morning and partly cloudy skies the rest of the day .  The winds were out of the north-east at 5-10 mph and the temperatures were in the low 70’s

Up on the Avon and Buxton beaches the puppy drum fishing was pretty good today. Out at Cape Point in Buxton the puppy drum bite was good with some big red drum making a showing.  The Frisco beach had a few puppy drum and flounder reported.

The inshore boats had good catches of puppy drum, some nice speckled trout and bluefish today in the Pamlico Sound.

The marlin fishing offshore today was awesome with several billfish released.  The “Hatteras Fever II” charter boat caught a Double Grand Slam (2 blue marlin, 2 white marlin, 2 sailfish) plus 4 white marlin.   Pretty work Captain Buddy Hooper and crew.  There were also good wahoo and dolphin fishing with a few blackfin tuna caught.
