Hatteras Island Fishing Report

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

Early this morning at daybreak we had some rain and the rest of the day was nice and sunny with calm winds and a perfect temperature.  The winds were from the north-east at 5-10 mph and the temperatures were in the low 70’s.

Up on the Avon and Buxton beaches there were reports of puppy drum, black drum, spot and bluefish caught.  On the Buxton beaches bluefish, puppy drum and some black drum were reported.  Out at Cape Point in Buxton the puppy drum and bluefish bite was good with some spanish mackerel mixed in. The Frisco and Hatteras beaches had a few puppy drum and pompano caught and good bluefish catches.

The inshore boats had good catches of puppy drum and some gray trout today in the Pamlico Sound.

The offshore boats had good dolphin catches, scattered wahoo and black fin tuna with some good tilefish and sea bass catches off the bottom.  There was a blue marlin, white marlin and a sailfish released from the Hatteras fleet today.
