Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.
Today was sunny and warm with light winds. The winds were from south-west at 5 mph and the temperatures were in the upper 60’s.
Out at Cape Point in Buxton the big red drum hit the beach this afternoon and early evening. They are probably still catching them as I type this. If you have not already heard Cape Point in Buxton is closed to vehicle access because of some American Oyster Catchers exhibiting some breeding behavior. You can still walk below the high tide line in the water to get to Cape Point. Over on the Frisco Beach some blow toads, sea mullet and a few puppy drum were all caught today.
The inshore boats had a decent day of puppy drum catches in the Pamlico Sound.
The offshore boats had a real good blackfin tuna bite again today. Also some tilefish and rose fish were brought up from the bottom.
The picture below is a nice golden tilefish caught aboard the “Bite Me” charter boat out of Hatteras. Nice catch.
