Hatteras Island Fishing Report

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

Today was a beautiful day here on Hatteras Island.  We reached a high of 72F and had light west-north-west winds this morning, which switched to the south-west this afternoon.

Avon Pier had a baby striper, along with sea mullet, bluefish and spot.  Also along the Avon beach were bluefish and sea mullet.  Buxton beach had puppy drum and bluefish.  Frisco beach had bluefish on bait and metal, a blackdrum and an over the slot red drum.  Hatteras had bluefish on metal and bait also.  Pictured below is Susan McClanahan with her over the slot red drum.  The next picture is Percy Houchens with his blackdrum.

The inshore boats had excellent catches of bluefish today and the red drum bite wasn’t too bad either.  Check out Hallelujah Charters with their catch of drum.

The offshore boats came back to the docks with good catches of dolphin, yellowfin and blackfin tuna and a few wahoo.  There were some nice grouper and tilefish caught also.
