Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

We were off to a nice cool start, sure felt like a nice fall morning.  Today was a beautiful day, temperatures in the upper 70’s.  The winds were light and out of the north this morning and out of the northwest this afternoon.

The fishing picked up today.  Avon reports spanish mackerel, bluefish, pompano and sea mullet.  Buxton reports bluefish,  pompano, sea mullet, flounder and spanish mackerel.  Frisco reports bluefish, pompano, spot and croaker.  Mostly caught on finger mullet.  Hatteras reports bluefish, sea mullet and croaker.

The inshore boats had excellent catches of spanish mackerel today, along with release catches of big red drum.

The offshore boats had good dolphin catches, along with fair wahoo and blackfin tuna catches.  The boats that bottomfished caught triggerfish and amberjacks.
