Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

Today was overcast with rain showers late in the day.  We had south winds at 5-10 mph and the temperatures were in the mid 70’s.

The fishing was a little slow with only a few sea mullet and bluefish caught off of the Avon beach.  Up around the Buxton beaches sea mullet and a few pompano were reported.  The Frisco beach had some sea mullet action.

The inshore boats reported nice catches of puppy drum and some larger red drum were released.  A pretty decent trout bite was also reported.  Pictured below is a nice puppy drum caught aboard “Hang On” charters today.

The offshore boats caught many dolphin, a few wahoo and blackfin tuna.  There were a few nice grouper caught as well as sailfish and white marlin releases.
