Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

Hot and sunny day again today. The temperature was in the upper 80’s with a heat index up to 105. The winds were from the South-West at 5-10 mph picking up later in the afternoon.

From the beach today the fishing was fair. in Avon there was sea-mullet and croaker from the beach and pier. In Buxton there was sea-mullet biting. Here in Frisco we had spot and sea-mullet caught. In Hatteras there was spot, flounder, puppy drum and bluefish.

Inshore fishing is going good. The late night gigging trips are great getting near limits of flounder and a handful of sheepshead. The spanish mackerel and bluefish bite was good just outside the inlet. In the sound there was a few cobia caught and a good red drum bite with a few keepers mixed in.

Offshore the fishing was great with near limits of gaffer and bailer sized dolphin. There was a handful of sailfish released today. A few wahoo made it back to the docks today as well. From the bottom there was grouper and tile-fish biting.
