Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

Today we had overcast skies with periods of hard rain in the afternoon.  The winds were from the south-west at 5-10 mph and the temperatures were in the upper 80’s.

Up on the Avon beach bluefish, sea mullet and a few pompano were caught.  Out at Cape Point (Shelly Island) in Buxton good bluefish and spanish mackerel fishing was reported.  Over on the Frisco beach puppy drum, flounder and sea mullet were caught.  Down on the Hatteras beaches puppy drum, bluefish, sea mullet and pompano were reported.

The inshore boats caught lots of spanish mackerel and bluefish trolling in and around Hatteras Inlet.  In the Pamlico Sound speckled trout and cobia were caught.

The offshore boats had scattered dolphin and blackfin tuna fishing.  Good wahoo catches and some tilefish and grouper were caught.  A blue marlin and sailfish were released.
