Hatteras Island Fishing Report

Today got up to a high of 88. Winds have been out of the SSW around 5-10mph. Gusts of up to 20mph later tonight. Tomorrow is looking like it’ll be just slightly cooler than today.

Not much of a report from the surf or sound (that we heard of) but there’s still plenty Drum and Trout out there.

Inshore boats caught Red Drum, Spanish Mackerel, Bluefish, and Cobia.

Offshore boats released several Blue Marlins and a couple of White Marlins. They caught plenty more gaffer Dolphin along with Wahoo and Yellowfin Tuna.

We had some technical difficulties yesterday so here’s the 5/31/22 Fishing Report.

  • Report from the surf included Puppy Drum.
  • Speckled Trouts are still being caught soundside.
  • We just weighed a 60lb Cobia here at the shop.
  • Inshore boats did well with Speckled Trout, Bluefish, and Cobia.
  • Offshore boats are still killing it with the Dolphin. Along with those they brought in some Wahoo and Blackfin Tuna. They also released more Blue Marlin.
