Hatteras Island Fishing Report

Today got up to 88 but felt more like 94. Winds have been out of the SW for most of the day. They started off gentle, became moderate, and are now back to gentle. It’s currently blowing about 10mph with gusts up to 17mph. Tomorrow looks like winds are going to stay out of the SW but increase along with the temperatures. Humidity and UV index have been and will continue to be high, be sure to stay hydrated and reapply sunscreen often.

We heard of Pompano being caught in the surf along with small Sea Mullet and Flounder. It was a little too rough for any Red Drum to be caught out there today.

In the sound we heard of Sheepshead, Speckled Trout, and Red Drum.

Offshore boats brought back Dolphin and Wahoo again. Tomorrow is looking to rough for the big boats so they’ll most likely stay at the docks.

Inshore boats limited out with Speckled Trout and Red Drum again but also got into some Cobia.

Don’t forget to stay tuned in to the Big Rock Tournament this week.
