Hatteras Island Fishing Report

Today’s high was 82. Winds have been mainly gentle again. Currently it’s 77, feels like 83, with SE wind around 6mph. Tomorrow’s temps and winds speeds are looking similar to today but directions are switching up. Rain is coming around midnight/early morning and looks to be lasting until the afternoon.

** The Point is open again. Small closure still on the south beach but the rest of Ramp 44 is open. **

Water temp was between 79.7 and 80.2 today.

In the surf there were catches of Spanish Mackerel, Bluefish, and Sea Mullet.

In the sound there were catches of Sheepshead and Red Drum.

Inshore boats hit Bluefish and Speckled Trout in the morning and Gray Trout and Spanish Mackerel in the afternoon.

Offshore boats steady catching Dolphin and Wahoo. Along with it were Blackfin Tuna, Snappers, Triggerfish, and some assorted bottom fish.
