Dare County’s latest update – NC Hwy 12 remains closed; visitor restrictions continue. Read it here.
The emergency ferry lines have proved to be longer than anticipated. We heard from one full time resident who said they waited in line from 8am until the 2 o’clock ferry to get off the island. It’s best to avoid leaving the island unless necessary right now. Currently the ferries running between Stumpy Point and Rodanthe are only allowing Priorities One, Two, and Three to board. To see which priority you fall into, check here. In the event of medical appointment, there is an option to request a Priority Pass, read more about it here (scroll down to the Emergency Ferry and Access Restrictions section).
