Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.
Today was mostly sunny with some scattered storm clouds. We had south-west winds 10-15 mph and the temperatures were in the upper 70’s.
Today was one of the better days for fishing. The Buxton beaches had reports of sea mullet, pompano and bluefish today. Out at Cape Point over a dozen big red drum were caught as well as a 20 lb cobia. The spanish mackerel also made a showing today. The Frisco beach reported some good sea mullet, a few puppy drum, pompano and bluefish. Down on the Hatteras beach a 49lb cobia was caught as well as bluefish, flounder, sea mullet and puppy drum.
The inshore boats had a few nice red drum, some spanish mackerel and bluefish caught today. The offshore fleet had excellent dolphin fishing, a few blackfin tuna, some grouper and two white marlin and a blue marlin were released. The picture below is a 45″ red drum released aboard the “Hook Up” charter boat.
