Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.
Today was just gorgeous! We had a high of 74F, with winds out of the west-south-west this afternoon around 5-8 mph.
There’s lots to talk about today. Avon Pier has opened for the season and fish are being caught. There were gray trout, sea mullet, blow toads, bluefish and puppy drum. The Point had some drum this morning. There were also bluefish on lures. Ramp 48 also had puppy drum and bluefish. Hatteras Village, oceanside had reports of blow toads, sea mullet and puppy drum. There was a few bluefish at the inlet also. The catch of the day goes to Den Mag from New Jersey. He caught this 47″ black drum off Ramp 49 today. It weighed 60lbs. His picture is below.
The inshore boats had lots of red drum releases, blow toads and bluefish.
The offshore boats had catches of blackfin tuna, a few dolphin and wahoo. Those that bottomfished came back with catches of sea bass and triggerfish.
