Today had a downpour then sunshine. The high was 84 while the low was 70 with light to gentle winds. Gusts up to 24mph. Currently it’s 81, feels like 87, with WSW winds around 10mph. Gusts around 21mph. Tomorrow should hold less rain but similar temps and winds. Chance of rain in the morning.

Ocean water temp: ~79

Surf: Bluefish, Croaker, Pompano, Red Drum, Sea Mullet, Sharks, Spanish Mackerel

Sound: Bluefish, Red Drum, Speckled Trout

Inshore: Inshore boats caught Bluefish, Red Drum, Spanish Mackerel, and Speckled Trout.

Offshore: Offshore boats caught Blackfin Tuna, Dolphin, and Wahoo.

Hatteras Island Fishing Report
August 11, 2025
Today was partly cloudy with intermittent sunshine. The high was 81 while the low was 75 with light to strong winds. Gusts up to 20mph. Currently it’s 79, feels like 86, with S winds around 6mph. Tomorrow’s temps should be about the same again. Winds will be switching directions slightly to the SSW/SW.

Sound water temp: Too much cloud coverage to get a good reading.

Ocean water temp: Too much cloud coverage to get a good reading.

Surf: Red Drum

Sound: Bluefish

Inshore: Inshore boats brought in Bluefish, Red Drum, Sheepshead, Spanish Mackerel, and Speckled Trout.

Offshore: Offshore parties came back to the docks with Blackfin Tuna, Dolphin, and Wahoo. Also had some Triggerfish. There’s over a hundred boats fishing the tournament and there were many Blue Marlin, White Marlin, and Sailfish released.

Today was a little rainy at times. The high was 81 while the low was 75 with light to moderate winds. Gusts up to 17mph. Currently it’s 77, feels like 86, with ENE winds around 3mph. Tomorrow winds should switch directions and end up ESE/SSE. They’ll continue to be light speeds.

Sound water temp: Too much cloud coverage to get a good reading.

Surf: Bluefish, Pompano, Sea Mullet, Spanish Mackerel, Spot

Sound: Bluefish, Spadefish

Inshore: Inshore boats brought in Bluefish.

Offshore: Offshore parties came back to the docks with Blackfin Tuna, Dolphin, and Wahoo. Plenty of boats fished the tournament today and there were over 100 billfish releases.

Today was overcast in the morning then rainy in the early afternoon. The high was 82 while the low was 73 with light to gentle winds. Gusts up to 19mph. Currently it’s 77, feels like 83, with NE winds around 5mph. Tomorrow should have similar temps and slightly stronger winds. Chance of rain midday.

Today was warmer but still tolerable for extended periods of time. Much better than having real feels nearing 100. The high was 84 while the low was 75 with light to gentle winds. Gusts up to 19mph. Currently it’s 75, feels like 83, with NE winds around 3mph. Tomorrow is showing chances of storms but it doesn’t look likely until Thursday. The temps and winds should be about the same.
