What I said yesterday still stands, we are ready for the warmer weather and less sickness! The rain finally moved in this afternoon. It held off longer than we thought it would. Now the lightning and thunder has moved in too. Today’s high was 62 while the low was 52 with light to moderate winds. Gusts up to 40mph. Currently it’s 57, feels like 54, with ENE winds around 10mph. Gusts around 20mph. Tomorrow’s temps should be about the same. Winds are going to increase overnight up to strong speeds that’ll continue into Tuesday morning.

Ocean water temp: ~50-53

While the weather hasn’t been bad on the island, sickness has. There’s been everything from aggravated allergies to the flu running around here lately. And our households haven’t been immune to it either. Needless to say, we are ready for the warmer weather and less sickness! Today’s high was 54 while the low was 46 with light to gentle winds. Gusts up to 23mph. Currently it’s 54, feels like 46, with SSE winds around 4mph. Tomorrow winds are going to increase throughout the day and remain moderate to strong speeds into Tuesday. Temps should be around mid 50s. Rain is predicted to be starting in the evening.

Sound water temp: 52-56 (between yesterday and today)

Ocean water temp: ~50-60 (over the last couple of days)

Another very windy day. Definitely high tide on the sound side (and definitely windier than we anticipated). The high was 54 while the low was 47 with gentle to strong winds. Gusts up to 42mph. Currently it’s 48, feels like 33, with WNW winds around 21mph. Gusts around 37mph. Tomorrow’s temps are predicted to be a few degrees warmer. Winds should be moderate most of the day and shift directions in the afternoon. Radar is clear.

Hatteras Island Fishing Report
March 5, 2025
Up until the afternoon it was a nice day despite the strong winds. It felt good to enjoy the breeze through the windows while still inside your home. Then the rain moved in. It’s been coming down pretty hard here in Frisco. The high was 66 while the low was 55 with moderate to strong winds. Gusts up to 59mph. Currently it’s 63, feels like 56, with S winds around 17mph. Gusts around 39mph. Tomorrow temps are predicted to be a little cooler, hovering around 50 all day. Winds are going to continue to be strong speeds, but not quite as strong as today’s. They should get up to 26mph as opposed to 36mph. Rain may continue into early morning but should be done by 5am at the latest, likely before then.
