    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    The morning started off with rainshowers.  The temperature was in the lower 80’s and winds were out of the southwest 5-10 mph.

    There has been sea mullet scattered up and down the beaches today.

    The inshore boats had catches of flounder, puppy drum, speckled and gray trout.

    The offshore boats had good catches of blackfin tuna, a few dolphin and wahoo.  The nearshore boats caught amberjack and triggerfish.  There was a blue and white marlin released today.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was clear and hot.  We had a high of 84F and south-south-west winds between 5-10 mph.

    Avon is reporting spanish and bluefish, also some trout.  Buxton has some pompano, sea mullet and puppy drum.  Frisco had some sea mullet and pompano.  Colt Hemberger, caught his very first pompano today.  It weighed 1lb 6oz.  Way to go Colt!  Hatteras had a few pompano and bluefish.

    The inshore boats had a good day catching speckled trout, keeper flounder and drum.  There were some spanish mackerel caught at the inlet as well.

    The offshore boats had good catches of dolphin and blackfin tuna.  There was a blue marlin and white marlin released today.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was sunny and hot.   We had south-west winds 15-20 mph and the temperatures were in the mid 80’s.

    The ocean had more wave action today with the hard south-west winds.  Up on the Avon beach croakers were reported.  Around the Buxton beaches sea mullet and pompano were caught.  The south beach, Frisco and Hatteras was really choppy and nothing was reported.

    The inshore boats had catches of puppy drum in the Pamlico Sound.

    The offshore boats stayed at the dock due to the increasing swells.

    Today was the 3nd and final day of the 13th Annual Hatteras Grand Slam Billfish Tournament.  No boats fished due to the weather and tomorrow looks even worse.

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was sunny and hot with increasing winds.  We had south-west winds  15-20 mph and the temperatures were in the upper 80’s.

    Slow fishing today.  Only some sharks caught out at Cape Point.

    The inshore boats had catches of big red drum and puppy drum in the Pamlico Sound.

    The offshore boats stayed at the dock due to the increasing swells.

    Today was the 2nd day of the 13th Annual Hatteras Grand Slam Billfish Tournament.  No boats fished due to the weather and tomorrow looks even worse.

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was sunny, hot and humid.  The heat index reached 100 degrees today.  We had south-west winds 5-10 mph and the temperatures were in the upper 80’s.

    Up on the Avon beach more sea mullet and pompano were caught. Out at Cape Point in Buxton good bluefish and shark action.  Over on the Frisco beach a few sea mullet and pompano were caught. Up on the Hatteras beach there were some pompano caught.

    The inshore boats had catches of big red drum and puppy drum, bluefish and spanish mackerel in the Pamlico Sound.

    The offshore boats had good dolphin fishing, a few blackfin tuna and 2 blue marlin and 4 sailfish were released today.

    Today was the first day of the 13th Annual Hatteras Grand Slam Billfish Tournament.  There were 2 blue marlin and 4 sailfish released.  For all the current standing click the link in blue above.
