• Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was overcast and windy with scattered rain throughout the day.  The winds were from the north-east at 10-20 mph and the temperatures were in the upper 60’s.

    The fishing was a little slow but there were some fish caught.  Around Cape Point in Buxton flounder, spanish mackerel and some bluefish were reported.  Sea mullet and pompano were caught on the Frisco beach.  Down on the Hatteras breach a few puppy drum were caught.

    The inshore boats caught lots of spanish mackerel and bluefish just outside Hatteras Inlet today.  They had good puppy drum and bluefish catches in the Pamlico Sound.

    No boats fished offshore today.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was partly sunny with calm winds.  The winds were from the north switching to the south-east late in the day at 5-8 mph and the temperatures were in the upper 70’s.

    With this low pressure moving through the ocean is rough and dirty.  Only some scattered sea mullet were reported on the Buxton and Frisco beaches.

    The inshore boats caught lots of spanish mackerel and bluefish just outside Hatteras Inlet today.  A few speckled trout were also caught in the Pamlico Sound.

    The offshore boats had scattered catches of black fin tuna, dolphin and a barracuda.  A sialfish was released aboard the “Sea Creature” today.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was overcast, but still a hot one.  It was 86F today.  We did get some rain this afternoon.  They are calling for it to be a little cooler tomorrow.

    There’s not much to report today, just a few sea mullet scattered.

    Despite the weather, some inshore boats went out.  They had catches of puppy drum, both releases and keepers, also spanish mackerel and bluefish were caught nearshore.

    The offshore boats stayed at the dock today.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was a beautiful day!  We had a high in the mid 80’s.  The winds were  southwesterly for a good part of the day, between 5 and 12 mph.

    There is still sea mullet up and down the beaches.  There were some pompano on the southside of the Point.

    The inshore boats had a good day along the beach.  They caught spanish mackerel and cobia.  In the sound, speckled trout were caught.

    The offshore fleet had a good day as well.  They had catches of dolphin, blackfin tuna and wahoo.  There were triggerfish, grouper and tile fish caught off the bottom also.  There were also a blue marlin and a white marlin released.

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Another great day to be on the water. Temperatures were in the low 80’s. Winds were from the South-East at 5-10 mph.

    Another good beach fishing day. The sea-mullet were all over today with some being citation sized. Bluefish were biting again as well. Pompano and spanish mackerel were biting in Buxton and Frisco today.

    Inshore today the red drum bite was on. The spanish mackerel and bluefish were all over the place today. In The sound there was speckled trout and some puppy drum.

    Offshore today was slow again. The dolphin bite was scattered but there was some black-fin and yellow-fin tuna biting. The wahoo bite was scattered today. From the bottom there was triggerfish and vermillion snapper.
