• Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was calmer and overcast. We had north winds 5-10 mph and the temperatures were in the upper 50’s.

    The ocean is pretty rough.  Only a few puppy drum were reported on the Buxton beaches.

    No boats fished inshore.

    The offshore boats had a few king mackerel and amber jacks caught.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    What a difference a day makes.  Boy was it a bit cooler today and overcast, the wind didn’t help either.  We had a high of 61F and north-north-east winds from 9-15 mph with higher gusts.

    The winds did not stop the fish from biting.  Despite the rough surf up on the northern beaches, there were citation size sea mullet caught and puppy drum.  Avon Pier had puppy drum and several big drum.  Buxton had some puppy drum and sea mullet.  With the seas being a little calmer on the south beaches, there were a little more variety of fish caught.  In Frisco there were some pompano, flounder puppy drum, sea mullet and bluefish.

    The winds kept the boats at the docks today.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was a beautiful day.  We had a high of 68F and light north winds from 4-6 mph.

    Today was a good day of fishing.  Avon had bluefish and sea mullet.  The Pier had some puppy drum, bluefish, sea mullet and big drum.  Buxton had puppy drum, bluefish, sea mullet, blow toads and bigger drum.  Frisco had some bluefish, blow toads and sea mullet.

    The inshore boats had good drum fishing today.  They caught keeper and over the slot size.

    The offshore boats brought in a mix of king mackerel, blackfin tuna, wahoo and a lot of triggerfish.  There was one blue marlin release.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Back to the beautiful weather. blue skies with temperatures were in the mid 60’s today. We had winds from the North-East at 5-10 mph.

    Better fishing off the beaches today. In Avon there was some bluefish off the beach. The red drum showed up at the pier today. At the point in Buxton there was bluefish and some drum caught. In Frisco we had sea-mullet, bluefish and some puppy drum caught.

    Inshore today a few boats found some puppy drum and released a few larger sized drum as well.

    No offshore report for today.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Cooler temperatures today and hard winds. Temperatures were in the mid 60’s throughout the day. Winds were from the North-East at 10-20 mph. We had scattered rain showers for most of the morning.

    Slow fishing off the beach today with the rough conditions.

    Today was the start of the Cape Hatteras Anglers Club 59th Annual Invitational Surf Fishing Tournament. Congratulations to all the winners in this years tournament. Tomorrow is the individual tournament hopfuly there is better fishing than today. To keep up with the tournament check out there Facebook page.

     

    No inshore or offshore report for today due to hard winds keeping every one at the docks.
