• Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Beautiful weather again today. The winds were from the North at 5-10 mph. The temperatures were in the mid 80’s.

    The fishing off the beach picked up today. From the beach in Avon there was a few sea-mullet and croaker caught. Off the pier there was sea-mullet, pompano, croaker and some puppy drum caught.  In Buxton there was pompano, sea-mullet, bluefish and some puppy drum biting. Here in Frisco we had sea-mullet, and small bluefish caught. Hatteras beach had a few puppy drum and bluefish biting.

    Inshore today the fishing was great with a variety of fish. IN the sound there was speckled trout, keeper and citation sized drum, and bluefish. Just outside the inlet there was spanish mackerel, and king mackerel caught.

    Billfish were again snapping today. There was over 25 sailfish released today and few blue marlin released. Limits of dolphin a wahoo today with a few yellow-fin and black-fin tuna mixed in. Off the bottom there was triggerfish and vermillion snapper caught.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Sunny skies again today. The temperatures were in the mid 80’s today with winds from the North East at 5-10 mph.

    Fishing from the beach sill seems slow. In Avon off the beach and pier there was sea-mullet and croaker biting. In Buxton there was spanish mackerel, bluefish and small puppy drum biting. Here in Frisco we had a few sea-mullet caught. Hatteras beach had sea-mullet and a few small bluefish biting.

    Inshore fishing was great today. This morning there was speckled trout and puppy drum caught. This afternoon there was citation sized drum and puppy drum caught. A few cobia were released as well. Just outside the inlet there was spanish mackerel and king mackerel biting.

    Billfish are here! There was a handful of sailfish released. Blue marlin and white marlin were seen but wouldn’t bite. Dolphin, black-fin tuna, and yellow-fin tuna filled the boxes. There was also a few wahoo caught today.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was another sunny day with light winds.  The winds were from the east at 5-10 mph and the temperatures were in the low 80’s.

    Out at Cape Point in Buxton some bluefish and spanish mackerel were caught.  There was also a 40 in red drum released.  Over on the  Frisco beach some bluefish and sea mullet were reported.

    The inshore boats had good red drum fishing with all being to small or to big to keep in the Pamlico Sound today.

    The offshore boats had nice catches of dolphin, pretty good black fin tuna and scattered catches of wahoo and yellowfin tuna.  A few sailfish were released.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was a sunny with light winds.  The winds were from the south-west at 5-10 mph and the temperatures were in the low 80’s.

    With the low pressure passing by and sitting just off of us has the ocean rough and hard to fish.  On the Buxton beach croaker, sea mullet and a few puppy drum were caught.   Down on the Hatteras beach bluefish, croaker, flounder and sea mullet were reported.

    The inshore boats had good speckled trout, gray trout and bluefish fishing in the Pamlico Sound today.

    No reports from the offshore boats today.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was a little overcast, with highs in the upper 80’s.  Winds were out of the south-south-east this morning, winds and clouds increased mid-afternoon, blowing around 9-12 mph.  Rain has moved in late this afternoon and it looks like it may stay a little while.

    The ocean is rough, making hard for fishing today.  Folks are giving it a try though.  In Avon there has been a few sea mullet.  Buxton had a few sea mullet and small puppy drum.  Frisco had a few sea mullet.

    The inshore boats caught speckled trout and red drum.

    There was one boat offshore today.  They brought back some wahoo, dolphin, blackfin and yellowfin tunas.
