• Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today we had another nice  day with calm winds and plenty of sunshine.  The winds were from the north-east at 5-10 mph and the temperatures were in the low 80’s.

    Up on the Avon beach bluefish, pompano and sea mullet were caught.  Around the Buxton beaches sea mullet, spanish mackerel and bluefish were reported.  Out at Cape Point in Buxton more good bluefish action on metal.  Over on the Frisco beach sea mullet, croaker and bluefish were reported.  Down on the Hatteras beach bluefish,  spanish mackerel and a few flounder were caught.

    The inshore fishing boats caught lots bluefish and spanish mackerel in and outside Hatteras Inlet.

    The offshore boats had good dolphin and black fin tuna catches.  The wahoo bite was really good with a few yellowfin tuna mixed in.  There were a few tilefish caught off the bottom.  A white marlin was released.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was a nice change.  We had sunny skies, but the winds coming out of the north-north-east made it not so hot out.  The winds blew 11-5 mph and temperatures were in the mid 80’s.

    Avon had bluefish, croaker, sea mullet, spot and spanish mackerel biting today.  There were some bluefish and a few spanish at Cape Point.  Pictured below is Bodey, Kyle’s oldest.  They were out at Cape Point this afternoon and he caught 2 bluefish all by himself.  The one in the picture is weighing in at 12oz.   Frisco had a few croaker.  There were a few sheepshead seen around the old pier.  Hatteras had bluefish, sea mullet and croaker.

    The inshore fishing was good today.  There were lots of nice size bluefish and red drum releases.

    It was a little choppy for the offshore boats.  They did manage a few catches of wahoo, dolphin and blackfin tuna.  There was one sailfish release.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today we had sunny skies and a high of 89F.  The winds were southwesterly, blowing  between 4-12 mph.

    Today was a good day to catch some spanish mackerel and bluefish.  There were a few other fish caught too.  Avon reports some spanish mackerel, small bluefish, croaker and pompano.  Buxton had some spanish mackerel, small bluefish, pompano and sea mullet.  Frisco had some small bluefish and sea mullet.  Hatteras reports small bluefish, small flounder and a few spanish.

    The inshore boats bite was a bit scattered today.  There were keeper red drum and some releases.

    The offshore boats had a good bite of wahoo, with some dolphin and blackfin tuna in the mix.  There were 10 sailfish flags flying today, the angler’s enjoyed fighting and releasing them.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    North winds at 5-10 mph for most of the day today. Temperatures were in the mid 80’s again today. In the morning there was stormy conditions that cleared out to make for a blue sky day.

    From the beach today there was better than yesterday. In Avon there was croaker, sea-mullet, and small bluefish. From the pier there was spanish mackerel, bluefish, croaker sea-mullet and grey trout biting. In Buxton there was small bluefish and croaker caught. Here in Frisco we had bluefish, croaker and pompano biting. In Hatteras there was sea-mullet, pompano and small bluefish biting.

    Inshore fishing picked up also today. The red drum were biting great today. There was bluefish and spanish mackerel caught outside the inlet. There was some sheepshead caught back in the sound today.

    Offshore today the wahoo bite picked up. There was a scattered dolphin bite with most being bailer sized fish. from the bottom there was grey tilefish, trigger fish and a blue angelfish pictured below caught by Bryan Peed from Wilson, NC while fishing on the Miss Hatteras today.
