Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

Today we had clear skies and a high of 83F. The winds were out of the southwest, 9-20 mph today. Tomorrow should be more of the same.

The fishing was a little slower today, all this southwest wind probably had something to do with it. Avon had reports of sea mullet and spanish mackerel. Buxton is reporting some sea mullet. Frisco is reporting sea mullet as well. Hatteras had sea mullet, flounder and pompano.

The inshore boats had catches of spanish mackerel, trout and a few cobia today. The offshore boats had catches of dolphin and a few blackfin tuna. Those that bottomfished had catches of amberjacks. One sailfish and one spearfish was released today.

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

Beautiful day here in the island. The temperatures were in the mid 70’s. Winds from the North-East at 10-15.

From the beach today there was some good fishing. In Avon the sea-mullet and bluefish were biting From the Avon Pier there was sea-mullet, bluefish, and flounder caught. In Buxton there was sea-mullet caught. In Frisco we had sea-mullet and pompano caught. Hatteras beach had flounder, sea-mullet, and pompano biting.

Inshore fishing was great again today, In The sound there was sea-mullet, bluefish, spot, speckled trout, and grey trout biting. Just outside the inlet the bluefish and spanish mackerel were biting good.

Offshore bite was good today. There was a scattered wahoo and black-fin tuna bite. The gaffer dolphin were biting good. there was 11 sailfish released just from the Hatteras charter fleet. There was a blue marlin weighed in today over 500 pounds.

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

Great weather for fishing today. The temperature was in the upper 70. Winds were calm from the North this morning turning South-West late in the afternoon.

From the beach there was some good fishing. In Avon there was sea-mullet, pompano, croaker, bluefish from the beach. From the pier there was sea-mullet, pompano, croaker, flounder, and bluefish. In Buxton the bluefish and spanish mackerel were biting. Here in Frisco the larger sized pompano were biting left and right. We weighed 3 within in a few hours 2 of which were citations. In Hatteras there was sea-mullet, croaker, and pompano.

Here is Bruce and Earlene Carter from Cumberland Maryland with a pair of pompano they caught off Ramp 49 using sandfleas. Earlene’s pompano weighed 3 pounds 7 ounces.

Great fishing inshore this morning. In the sound there was sea-mullet, bluefish, speckled trout, grey trout, and puppy drum.

Offshore the fishing was good today. A few more sailfish were released today. There was a good dolphin bite and scattered black-fin tuna. From the bottom there was vermillion snapper and grouper.

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

Another beautiful day today. The temperatures were around 80 today. The winds were from the North and calm in the morning turning to the west around noon and picking up tp 10-15 mph.

Fishing from the beach today was slower. From the beach in Avon there was sea-mullet and bluefish. From the Avon Pier there was sea-mullet, black drum, bluefish, and croaker. In Buxton there was bluefish biting. Here in Frisco we had some sea-mullet caught. In Hatteras there was small flounder and sea-mullet.

Inshore today there was a few nice side cobia caught this morning. In the sound the speckled trout, sea-mullet, spot, and grey trout biting. There was also a good puppy drum bite. A few larger red drum were released today.

Offshore was a little slow today. There was a fair dolphin and black-fin tuna bite today. The was bite was scattered. There was a handful of sailfish released today.

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

Today we had rain and wind early with sunny skies to follow in the afternoon. The winds were from the south-west at 20-30 mph switching to the north at 5-10 mph and the temperatures mid to upper 70’s.

Fishing was really slow today with only some sea mullet reported on the Buxton beaches.

There is no inshore or offshore report for today.
