    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today had a little less humidity but still hot.  The winds were from the south-west at 10 mph and the temperatures were in the upper 80’s.

    Up on the Avon beach bluefish and sea mullet were reported.  The Buxton beaches had puppy drum, sea mullet and a few flounder caught.  Not much to report on the Frisco and Hatteras beaches.

    The inshore boats had plenty of Big red drum releases as well many puppy drum.  The speckled trout and bluefish bite was good too in the Pamlico Sound.  Spanish mackerel and bluefish were caught on the troll just outside Hatteras Inlet.

    The offshore boats released several sailfish and had scattered catches of blackfin tuna and dolphin.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was just as hot as yesterday with a heat index of 95 degrees.  The winds were from the south-west at 10-15 mph and the temperatures were in the mid 80’s.

    Up on the Avon beach bluefish, sea mullet, a few pompano and croaker were caught.  Around the Buxton beaches sea mullet and bluefish were reported.  Over on the Frisco beach sea mullet were caught.  Down on the Hatteras beach sea mullet and croakers were reported.

    The inshore boats had some catches of Big red drum.  Pictured below is Stephanie Tucker of Urbanna, VA with a huge 58 in citation red drum caught aboard “Tightline” charters out of Hatteras NC today.

    No boats fished offshore today due to the windy weather and rough seas.

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    It was another hot and humid day for the books, we hit a high of 87F.  Light south-east breezes this morning, switching to the south-south-west this evening and kicking the winds up a bit, around 10-15 with higher gusts.

    The beaches were packed today.  Along with the sun tanners and swimmers, there were some surf fishing and some fish caught.  Avon beach reports spot, croaker, sea mullet and small bluefish.  Buxton is reporting some sea mullet.  Frisco had some croaker and spot.  Hatteras had some spot, croaker and sea mullet.

    The inshore boats had good catches of bid drum and spanish mackerel.

    The offshore boats had catches of dolphin, scattered blackfin and some bottomfish.  There was one sailfish and one blue marlin.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    It was a scorcher out there today, we reached a high of 87F.  The winds were light and out of the southwest this morning, switching over to the north-north-west this evening.

    Fishing is about the same, Avon is reporting croaker and pompano.  The pier had bluefish, spot, pompano, sea mullet and croaker.  Buxton had reports of spanish mackerel and black drum.  Frisco is reporting sea mullet.  Hatteras had spanish mackerel and sea mullet.

    The inshore boats had some catches of red drum and a few releases as well.  They are also doing some clamming as well.

    The offshore boats had fair catches of dolphin and blackfin tuna, along with a scattered wahoo bite.  The boats that bottomfished, had catches of triggerfish, grouper and snapper.  There were 4 sailfish and 1 white marlin released today.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Beautiful weather today. The temperature was in the mid 80’s. Winds were from the west in the morning turning east around noon. Wind speeds were 10-15 early in the morning calming as the day passed.

    Fishing from the beach was slow again today. In Avon from there was sea-mullet, and croaker caught from the beach and pier. In Buxton and here in Frisco there was sea-mullet. In Hatteras there was small flounder, spot, and bluefish.

    Great fishing inshore today. This morning the speckled trout bit was scattered but picked up in the afternoon. Spanish mackerel were biting great near and inshore today. The red drum were biting great today one boat had 10 citations in the afternoon.

     

    Offshore today there was a fair dolphin and black-fin tuna bite. There was also a few sailfish released.
