• Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today we had another great day here on the island. The temperatures started out cool in the upper 50’s but rose to the mid 70’s for most of the day. The winds were from the west at 10-15 mph.

    From the beach today the fishing was really good. From the beach in Avon there was a good amount of fish biting with sea-mullet, bluefish, puppy drum, speckled trout, blow toads and even some spanish mackerel. From the pier there there was spot, sea-mullet, bluefish and croaker biting. From the beach in Buxton there was bluefish, spot, sea-mullet flounder and some puppy drum caught. Here on the Frisco beach there was some sea-mullet and bluefish biting. Hatteras beach had blowtoads, black drum, sheepshead, puppy drum and speckled trout.

    Inshore today wasn’t the greatest. There was only a handful of drum caught today.

    Offshore the fishing was great again. The black-fin tuna bite was great. Gaffer and bailer sized dolphin were caught as well. The wahoo and yellow-fin tuna bite was scattered. There was also a good bite from the king mackerel today.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Another sunny day here on the beach. The temperatures were in the lower 70’s. Winds were North for the morning turning South-West in the afternoon at 5-10 mph.

    From the beach today there was some great fishing. In Avon there was puppy drum, sea-mullet, bluefish and black drum caught on the beach. From the pier there was puppy drum and one citation drum, sea-mullet, croaker, black drum and blow toads biting. In Buxton there was some small bluefish around. Here in Frisco there was bluefish, pompano, spot and black drum caught. Hatteras beach had puppy drum, bluefish, flounder sea-mullet, croaker and black drum.

     

    Inshore today was about the same as yesterday with small puppy drum and a scattered speckled trout.

    Offshore today the fishing was great. The dolphin and wahoo bite was good with a few black-fin and yellow-fin tuna mixed in. The billfish were biting great today with some boats releasing as many as 3. From the bottom today there was a great triggerfish bite.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was nice and sunny with calm winds..  We had west winds 5 mph and the temperatures were in the low 70’s.

    The northern ramps are open and Hatteras is open.  Hopefully with little to no rain this week, the water will soak in at Ramps 43, 44 and 49 and get open.  We will post as soon as they post opening.  You can always check their facebook page by clicking this link Cape Hatteras National Seashore.

    Up on the Avon beaches there were reports of sea mullet, puppy drum and bluefish.  The Buxton beaches had bluefish, black drum and puppy drum.  Over on the Frisco beach a few sea mullet and bluefish were caught.  Down on the Hatteras beaches sea mullet, bluefish, blow toads and flounder were reported.

    The inshore boats caught a lot of small puppy drum and  a few speckled trout.

    The offshore boats had good catches of  dolphin, a few wahoo, blackfin and yellowfin tuna.  Good catches of trigger fish were reported. Two sailfish were released.

    Today was sunny and windy.  We had south-west winds 15-20 mph and the temperatures were in the mid 70’s.

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was a bit overcast, with a temperature of 76F.  We had light north-north-east winds this morning, switchingto the west-south-west tonight.

    Avon beach had reports of sea mullet and small bluefish.  Buxton reports small bluefish.  Frisco had some sea mullet and small bluefis.  Hatteras had sea mullet, croaker and a few small bluefish.

    The inshore boats had keeper red drum and some releases.  Pictured below is Bak Bar Sportfishing with one of their red drum catches today.

    The offshore boats had good catches of wahoo and blackfin tuna, along with scattered dolphin and yellowfin tuna.
