• Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was sunny with a good south-west breeze.  The winds were blowing 15-20 mph with a few gusts a bit higher.  The temperatures were in the mid 70’s.

    The Avon Pier had gray trout, croaker and sea mullet reported.  On the Avon beaches some sea mullet were caught.  Around the Buxton beaches sea mullet and puppy drum were caught.  Out at Cape Point in Buxton some nice red drum were caught.  Pictured below is JT Roehrs with a red drum that he caught this afternoon out at Cape Point in Buxton.  Pretty work JT.  Over on the Frisco and Hatteras beaches some bluefish were caught.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reporta

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    We had rain, thunder and a little bit of lightning today.  Some pretty strong southwest winds this morning around 20 mph, switched to the south for a little bit, then right back to the south-west. The winds were clocked anywhere from 16 to 24 mph today.

    Avon Pier had some sea mullet caught today.  No reports from the beaches, a little rough today.

    The winds and rain kept the inshore and offshore boats at the docks today as well.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Happy Mother’s Day to all the Wonderful Mothers!!!!

    Today we had on and off rain showers again.  The winds were out of the south-south-east anywhere from 6 to 19 mph.  The temperature reached a high of 75F.

    Avon beach reports sea mullet.  Buxton reports bluefish and yearling size drum.  Frisco reports pompano, sea mullet, bluefish and black drum.  Pictured below is SusanOBX with two nice pompano, one a citation, caught using river rigs.

    A few inshore boats ventured out, saw some drum, but could not get them to bite.  There is no offshore report for today.

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island..

    Scattered rain showers throughout the day today. The temperatures were in the mid 70’s and winds were east 15-20 mph.

    From the beach today in Avon there was sea-mullet, bluefish, puppy drum, and blow toads. In Buxton there was sea-mullet, blow toads, puppy drum and a cobia caught. Here in Frisco there was sea-mullet pompano and some drum. In Hatteras there was puppy drum caught on the sound side.

    Inshore today there was a few puppy drum caught.

    No offshore report for today.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island..

    The day started out with scattered rain showers and cool temperatures. The skies cleared and temperatures rose to the mid 70’s. The winds were east 5-10 mph.

    Fishing picked up from the beach today. In Avon there was sea-mullet, bluefish, flounder, grey trout, and some puppy drum. In Buxton there was some bluefish and a few drum caught at cape point. Here in Frisco there was some small flounder, a few puppy drum, and we heard of a pompano caught later in the day. Hatteras beach had a lot of current but from the sound side there was flounder and bluefish.

    Inshore today there was a good bite of puppy drum in the sound.

    Offshore today there was dolphin and a few yellow fin tuna caught.
