Today started out rainy and windy early this morning.  By 11am the sun was shining and we had great weather.  The winds were from the south at 5-10 mph and the temperatures were in the mid 80’s.

Up on the Avon beaches some bluefish and sea mullet were reported.  Around the Buxton beaches flounder, spot, croaker and sea mullet were caught. Well apparently you can walk to Cape Point again and you don’t have to be in the water.  That is at least some good news.  Big sharks were reported from those who made the trek.  The Frisco beach over Ramp 49 had a few puppy drum and sea mullet caught.

The inshore boats had real good puppy drum fishing and a few 40 in red drum were released.  I did hear of a few unconfirmed tarpon caught around Hatteras Inlet today.  No boats fished offshore today that I am aware of.

Good luck to all the boats in the 31st Annual Pirate’s Cove Billfish Tournament!
