Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

Today we had mostly cloudy skies with a high of 78F. The winds were out of the north-east around 12-15 mph with higher gusts.

The north-east winds made fishing tough for the northern beaches today. There were some sea mullet reported in Buxton. Here at Ramp 49 were reports of small pompano, bluefish and sea mullet. Hatteras beach reports flounder, sea mullet, bluefish and croakers.

A few of the inshore boats made it out this morning and came back with catches of bluefish and keeper red drum. The winds kept the offshore fleet at the docks today.

Hatteras Island Fishing Report

August 23, 2014

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

Mostly cloudy skies today with East North East winds at 5-10 mph. The temperature was around 80 throughout the day.

The fishing slowed down a little today but was still very good. In Avon there were sea-mullet, pompano, spanish and bluefish. In Buxton the spanish and blues were biting. From the Frisco beach the sea-mullet were biting very good. In Hatteras the flounder, bluefish, pompano, croaker, and sea-mullet were biting.

Inshore today the fishing was good for bluefish and puppy drum.

Last night in the sound Antonio Garcia of Frisco giggeds this 10lb 11oz Sheepshead.

Offshore today the wahoo fishing was good. The dolphin, blackfin tuna, and king mackerel fishing was very scattered. From the bottom there was a good tilefish and triggerfish bite.

Hatteras Island Fishing Report

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

Sunny skies in the morning turning Cloudy later today with the temperature in the mid 80’s. the winds started out North at 5-10 mph but came around to the North-East.

The beach fishing today was very good. In Avon the pompano, spot, croaker, puppy drum, from the beach. From the pier there was spade fish, flounder, sea-mullet, and some croaker. In Buxton the pompano, sea-mullet, some spanish and a few small bluefish. From the Frisco beach there was some sea-mullet and pompano caught. In Hatteras the sea-mullet and bluefish were being caught. also some sand perch were caught.

Inshore today the drum, spanish, and bluefish were biting good today.

The wahoo fishing was good again today. The bailer dolphin bite was decent today and the black fin tuna bite was scattered. There was a few sailfish were released today. From the bottom there were some tile fish caught.

Hatteras Island Fishing Report

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

Today we had sunny skies with a few passing clouds and high humidity. The winds were from the south-west at 5 mph and the temperatures were in the low 80’s.

Fishing today from the Avon beaches was pretty good. Some sea mullet, pompano, bluefish and a few puppy drum were reported. Around the beaches in Buxton a few pompano, spanish mackerel and bluefish were caught. Out at Cape Point in Buxton the bluefish and spanish mackerel fishing was really good. The Frisco beach over Ramp 49 had reports of sea mullet and pompano catches. Down on the Hatteras beaches and the inlet there were bluefish and a few sea mullet reported.

The inshore boats had good puppy drum fishing, bluefish and gray trout in the Pamlico Sound. The boats fishing just outside Hatteras Inlet and a few miles out had catches of false albacore, spanish mackerel and bluefish.

The offshore fleet had good wahoo fishing and four sail fish and a blue marlin released..

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

Today we had mostly sunny skies with a few scattered rain showers and light winds. The winds were from the north-east at 5-10 mph and the temperatures were in the low 80’s.

On the Avon beaches some sea mullet, pompano and spot were reported. Around the beaches in Buxton a few pompano and bluefish were caught. The Frisco beach over Ramp 49 had more sea mullet catches. Down on the Hatteras beaches and the inlet there were flounder, bluefish and a few sea mullet reported.

The inshore boats had more good puppy drum fishing in the Pamlico Sound. The boats fishing just outside Hatteras Inlet and a few miles out had catches of amberjacks, false albacore and a lost yellowfin tuna. The spanish mackerel and bluefish bite were good too.

The offshore fleet and good wahoo fishing and better dolphin fishing. A few king mackerel were also caught. The picture below is from the “Godspeed” charter boat with one of the wahoos they caught today.
