• Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today we had mostly sunny skies.  The winds were from the south-west at 10-15 mph and the temperatures were in the mid 80’s.

    Around the Avon beaches there were decent catches of sea mullet, bluefish and croakers caught..  The Buxton beaches had some reports of bluefish and sea mullet.  Out at Cape Point in Buxton some spanish mackerel ad bluefish were reported.   The Frisco beach over Ramp 49 had reports of good bluefish catches and a few flounder..   Down on the Hatteras beaches and near the inlet there were bluefish, flounder, some puppy drum and sea mullet reported.

    The inshore boats caught more puppy drum and gray trout in the Pamlico Sound.  The spanish mackerel bite just outside Hatteras Inlet was good too.

    The offshore boats had a nice day on the water with limits of dolphin and wahoo.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today we had partly sunny skies.  The winds were from the south-west at 10-15 mph and the temperatures were in the mid 80’s.

    Up on the Avon beaches there was a few sea mullet and spot caught..  The Buxton beaches had some reports of bluefish and sea mullet.  Out at Cape Point in Buxton some spanish mackerel were reported.   The Frisco beach over Ramp 49 had reports of sea mullet.   Down on the Hatteras beaches and near the inlet there were bluefish, spot and sea mullet reported.

    The inshore boats caught lots of puppy drum in the Pamlico Sound.  The picture below is Eric Partin with a 29 in Puppy Drum, one of 9 caught in the Pamlico Sound today.

    Just a few offshore boats made it out today and they were rewarded with limits of wahoo and dolphin.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    We had clear skies, a high around 85F and southwest winds 10-15 mph.  Such a beautiful way to spend your Labor Day holiday.  We hope everyone enjoyed the last “big” holiday before school starts back.  We wish everyone safe travels.

    Cape Point had reports of spanish mackerel and bluefish this afternoon and this evening.  Just to show how unique Hatteras Island is and especially Cape Point, a bonefish was caught off the Point this evening.  Here is a picture of the bonefish and the gentleman who caught it.  You just never know….

    Frisco beach had reports of sea mullet, pompano and bluefish.  Hatteras beach reports spot and sea mullet.

    Inshore boats caught red drum, bluefish and undersized cobia released.  Here’s a picture of Jack Revere with his drum.  Nice fish Jack!!

    The offshore boats had excellent catches of dolphin and wahoo, some boats catching limits of both.  Some of the bottomfish brought in were amberjacks and blueline tilefish.  There were two sailfish released today.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was a beautiful day on Hatteras Island, there was very little breeze, if any at all.  We had a high around 85F today.  This evening a light breeze started out of the south-south-west around 13 mph.

    Buxton had reports of pompano, spots, sea mullet, flounder and croaker.  Cape Point had reports of bluefish and spanish mackerel this morning and evening.  Also some blacktip and spinner sharks.  Frisco beach had reports of sea mullet, bluefish, spot and croakers.  Hatteras beach reports spanish mackerel, spot, bluefish and sea mullet.  Howard Dreisigaker caught this nice citation sea mullet, weighing in at 1lb 12oz, at Ramp 49 today.

    Inshore fishing was good today.  There was good catches of speckled trout, keeper red drum and gray trout.

    The offshore boats had good catches of wahoo, bailer and gaffer size dolphin and a few blackfin tuna.  A few snapper and triggerfish were caught too.  There was one sailfish released.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was a great day to be out fishing or even enjoying the beautiful day. The temperature was in the lower 80’s and the wind was south-east at 5-10mph.

    The fishing was good everywhere today. Avon had reports of spot, pompano, sea-mullet, croaker, bluefish, and even some puppy drum from the beach. In Buxton the pompano, spot, sea-mullet, and bluefish were biting. From the Frisco beach there was some sea-mullet and bluefish. In Hatteras the sea-mullet spot and bluefish were biting.

    The big red drum showed up today with a citation released back in the sound. the speckeled trout and puppy drum were still biting again today.

    Amado Campos of Clifton Va caught this citation 8lb. 2oz. sheepshead in the sound near Ocracoke from his kayak.

    Offshore today there was a good catch of dolphin and a good wahoo bite. The wahoo were hard to get to the boat today though. A few sailfish were released today.
