• Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was cloudy with on and off rain showers.  We reached a high of 80F.  We have SE winds this morning, switching to the SW this afternoon blowing from 5-10 mph.

    Cape Point had spanish mackerel this morning and evening, bluefish and sea mullet were also caught.  Frisco had reports of sea mullet and bluefish.  Hatteras had reports of sea mullet, spot and croaker.

    The inshore boats had nice catches of red drum.  The offshore boats that ventured out had nice catches of dolphin, limits of wahoo and nice catches of bottom fish.  Pictured below is Godspeed Charters with a nice gaffer dolphin caught today.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was cloudy, all day.  We reached a high of 83F, but once that cool front moved in this afternoon, the temperature dropped and the storms moved in.  We had WNW winds around 10 mph this morning, they lightened up this evening.

    Cape Point reports sea mullet and bluefish.  Frisco reports bluefish and sea mullet.  Hatteras reports spanish mackerel, blue fish and sea mullet.  There were small flounder caught on the sound side also.

    There is no inshore or offshore report for today.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    The weather today was similar to yesterday with partly cloudy skies and temperatures in the lower 80’s.  the wind today was south west at 10-15mph.

    From the beach today the fishing picked up from yesterday. Avon beach and pier both had spanish, bluefish, and sea-mullet. Buxton had reports of bluefish and spanish. From the Frisco beach there was spanish, bluefish, and sea-mullet caught. Hatteras had probably the best catch from the beach today with puppy drum making an appearance along with flounder, sea-mullet, and bluefish.

    Today the Spanish were being caught from ramp 49. This 2lb 12oz was brought in from one of our customers.

    Inshore today the drum fishing was good again. Last night the flounder gigging was really good with limits caught. The clamming was good today with limits caught also.

    Offshore today the wahoo and dolphin was the main bite. There was some citation triggerfish brought up from the bottom. The blackfin tuna bite was scattered along with a few sailfish caught.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    The weather was great today with the temp in the lower 80’s and southwest winds at 5-10mph. In the afternoon there was a scattered shower but nothing to mess up any fishing time.

    From the beach the fishing was really good. In Avon there was sea-mullet, spanish, bluefish. In Buxton the pompano are still biting along with bluefish and spanish. In Frisco the bluefish and sea-mullet were biting. Hatteras had reports of bluefish, spanish, and sea-mullet.

    Inshore the speckled and grey trout were biting good. The drum fishing was really good with boats seeing large schools. Some schools had 100+ fish.

    David Waterfield of Buxton caught this nice keeper drum in the sound tonight. Pretty work.

    Offshore the fishing was good today with wahoo, blackfin tuna, and some tilefish.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today we had sunny skies.  The winds were from the south-west at 5-10 mph and the temperatures were in the mid 80’s.

    Up on the Avon beaches there were sea mullet, bluefish and croakers caught..  The Buxton beaches had some reports of small bluefish.  Out at Cape Point in Buxton spanish mackerel and bluefish were reported.   The Frisco beach over Ramp 49 had reports of bluefish catches and sea mullet.  Down on the Hatteras beaches and near the inlet there were bluefish, flounder and sea mullet reported.

    The inshore boats caught limits of puppy drum and speckled and gray trout in the Pamlico Sound.

    The offshore boats had another good day offshore with some limits of dolphin and wahoo.
