• Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Another partly cloudy day on the island. The wind was calm today starting from the north in the morning and switching south-west in the afternoon. The temperature was nice and cool in the morning and moved up to around 80 later in the morning.

    From the beach today there was spot, sea-mullet, bluefish, and spanish mackerel caught. Buxton had reports of spanish mackerel and bluefish. Frisco there was sea-mullet and bluefish caught. In Hatteras there was some flounder, sea-mullet and bluefish caught.

    From the boats inshore today the drum and bluefish bite was good today. There was some flounder biting today also.

    Offshore today the bailer and gaffer dolphin were being caught and some boats caught their limits worth. The king mackerel and wahoo bite was scattered today. From the bottom more vermilion snapper and some gray tile were caught.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    The weather today was mostly cloudy with winds starting from the west at 5-10 mph switching to north-north-east  5-10 mph. The temperature was around 80 throughout the day.

    From the beach today the sea-mullet, and bluefish were everywhere. In Avon croaker, flounder and spanish mackerel were caught.  In Buxton the pompano made a showing.  Along with sea-mullet and blues Frisco had spot caught. In Hatteras the flounder were being caught.

    Inshore today the drum, and bluefish were biting good. Just oustide the inlet there were some spanish mackerel caught.

    Offshore today the fishing was really good with a few white marlin released along with dolphin, blackfin tuna, and a few wahoo caught. There was a lot of fish brought up the the wrecks today including tilefish, triggerfish and vermilion snapper.

  • 9/11 Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Today we remember those who lost their lives in the senseless acts of terror on our homeland. We will never forget!!!

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was mostly sunny with light winds.  The winds were from the south-west at 5-10 mph and the temperatures were in the upper 70’s.

    Up on the Avon beaches some bluefish and sea mullet were reported.  Around the Buxton beaches and out at Cape Point good catches of bluefish and spanish mackerel. Over on the Frisco beach some good bluefish catches and sea mullet were reported.  Down around Hatteras Inlet the bluefish and spanish mackerel bite was pretty good with a few flounder mixed in.

    The inshore boats caught speckled trout, flounder and puppy drum in the Pamlico Sound.  Just outside Hatteras Inlet there were spanish mackerel and bluefish caught.

    The offshore boats had a better day with nicer weather.  There were good catches of wahoo and bailer dolphin with some limits.  Some king mackerel and blackfin tuna were reported.  One sailfish was released..

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was sunny with light winds.  The winds were from the north-east at 5-10 mph and the temperatures were in the upper 70’s.

    Today there were spot, sea mullet and pompano caught from Avon, Buxton, Frisco and Hatteras beaches. A few puppy drum and flounder were reported down at Hatteras Inlet.  Out at Cape Point there was a lot of action with bluefish, spanish mackerel, false albacore being caught on lures.

    The inshore boats caught gray trout and puppy drum in the Pamlico Sound.  Just outside Hatteras Inlet there were spanish mackerel and bluefish caught.  The picture below is Aladtar Damamitio with another sheepshead, this one 11 lbs speared out in the Pamlico Sound around the trees.

    The offshore boats had a pretty good day with nice weather.  There were decent catches of wahoo and dolphin.  The bottom fishing was good with a big variety consisting of Triggerfish, Vermillion Snapper, Red Mouth Grunts, and Sand Tilefish.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today we had scattered rain showers.  The winds were from the west south-west at 5-10 mph and the temperatures were in the mid 70’s.

    Up on the Avon beaches there were sea mullet and spot caught..  The Buxton beaches had some reports of some bluefish.  Out at Cape Point in Buxton the spanish mackerel and bluefish bite was decent.   The Frisco beach over Ramp 49 had reports of bluefish catches and sea mullet and some decent pompano.   Down on the Hatteras beaches and near the inlet there were good bluefish catches and a few flounder and sea mullet reported.

    The inshore boats had more good puppy drum action and some sheeps head in the Pamlico Sound.  The pictures below are Alastar Damamitio with a 6 lb 4 oz Sheepshead speared under one of the many trees washed out in the Pamlico Sound today and Aaron Vittorini with a nice puppy drum caught in the Pamlico Sound today.

    The offshore boats had just a few boats out and they caught a few dolphin and wahoo.
