• Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today we had cloudy skies with windy conditions.  The winds were out of the north-east at 10-20 mph and the temperatures were in the upper 60’s.  This low pressure system will move onshore tonight and tomorrow and bring some possible heavy rain and gusty winds 15-25 mph out of the north switching to the east.

    Up on the Avon and Buxton beaches and out at Cape Point in Buxton there were puppy drum reported. On the Avon Pier some big red drum made a showing today.   The Frisco beach had sea mullet and pompano caught. On the Hatteras beaches some bluefish, sea mullet and flounder were reported.

    The inshore boats had good catches of puppy drum and yearling drum today in the Pamlico Sound.  The flounder bite was pretty good too.

    Only one boat out offshore today and they had good fishing with a nice catch of dolphin, a few wahoo and some blackfin tuna.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    It was a beautiful day on Hatteras Island.  We had a high around 77F, with north winds, switching to the northeast and picking up tonight.

    Avon Pier had a couple of citation drum today.  In Buxton at Ramp 43 some puppy drum were caught.  Cape Point had some puppy drum also.  Hatteras had puppy drum and bluefish.  Pictured below is Steve Pinner with his 27″ puppy drum caught at Ramp 43 this afternoon.

    The inshore boats had excellent catches of red drum and some flounder.  The boats that fished nearshore caught spanish mackerel and bluefish.  The offshore boats caught limits of dolphin and scattered wahoo.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    The day started with lots of rain and winds out of the WNW.  The sun came out and rain ended, wind switched to the west.  We reached a high of 77F.  The winds switched yet again tonight to the WSW around 10-15 mph.

    Avon beach had spot and croaker today.  Buxton had a fe puppy drum.  Ramp 49 had puppy drum, spot and sea mullet.  Hatteras had bluefish, puppy drum, sea mullet and croaker.

    The weather kept all the inshore and offshore boats at the docks today.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Scattered rain showers didn’t keep the fish from biting. The wind today was North-North-East 5-10 mph. The temperature was in the lower 70’s.

    In the Tri Villages are the puppy drum and bluefish were biting. From the Avon beach the spot, croakers, and sea-mullet were biting. Buxton had reports of Bluefish biting. In Frisco the croakers and sea-mullet were biting from the beach.

    The rain didn’t keep everyone in but only a few boats fished, the puppy drum, bluefish, and spanish were biting. There was also a few flounder caught.

    Today the rain kept the boats from fishing offshore today.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    The weather today wasn’t the prettiest. the winds were north-east 10-15 mph with cloudy skies. The temperature was around 80 throughout the day.

    Even with the wind the fishing was good from the beach. On the Tri Villages beach’s there was puppy drum, spot, croaker, sea-mullet, flounder, and bluefish caught. From the Avon beach there was spot, croaker, and sea-mullet caught. In Buxton there was spanish mackerel and bluefish caught. Frisco beach was slow with a few sea-mullet caught. In Hatteras the fishing was great. The black drum and puppy drum were biting good along with croaker, flounder, bluefish, and sea-mullet.

    Inshore today the boats the braved the wind caught limits off puppy drum.

    The wind kept the boats from fishing offshore today.
