• Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was another beautiful day with a few clouds in the sky. The temperature did get over 60 today but not by much. The winds were north-north-east 5-10 mph laying out slowly throughout the day.

    From the beaches the fishing was great. In Avon there was speckled trout, puppy drum, sea-mullet, and bluefish caught. The Avon pier is holding a red drum and bluefish tournament and today the drum were biting great, some bigger and some nice puppy drum too. In Buxton there was sea-mullet, bluefish, and puppy drum caught. Frisco beach there was some smaller black drum along with some blowtoads. The puppy drum and bluefish were biting also. In Hatteras there was some flounder and a great bluefish bite near the inlet.

    Inshore today the fishing was great. The bluefish and speckled trout were biting great. The puppy drum fishing has slowed down but there was still some caught. The grey trout were smaller sized but plenty of them around.

    Offshore today the fishing was really good. The yellowfin and blackfin tuna were biting great. The king mackerel and dolphin bite was good along with some albacore and amberjacks caught. The dolphin fishing is still going good. There’s still a few wahoo around also.

    Here’s one of the 50lb Yellowfin tuna caught on the Godspeed today. Pretty work guys!

  • Cape Point Big Red Drum Action

    Out at Cape Point in Buxton NC the Big Red Drum have been biting pretty good and we have some pictures to prove it.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Partly cloudy skies today but the wind was blowing hard in the morning. More north west winds 10-15 mph laying out as the day went on. The temperature was in the upper 50’s today.

    After the second day of the 57th Annual Cape Hatteras Anglers Club Surf Fishing Tournament at Cape Hatteras Recreational Sea Shore the fishing wasn’t as good as yesterday but there was some bluefish and a few puppy drum caught.

    The bluefish took the beaches over today. In Avon the bluefish, sea-mullet, and some puppy drum were caught. In Buxton there was yearling drum, sea-mullet, and some bluefish caught. Frisco beach the puppy drum and blues were biting. In Hatteras there was some black drum and bluefish caught.

    No boats fished offshore today and only a few boats fished inshore  and only a few bluefish caught.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was partly sunny with the winds increasing throughout the day.. The winds were from the south-west at 10-15 mph increasing to 15-25 mph after dark. The temperatures were around 70 degrees.

    After the first day of the 57th Annual Cape Hatteras Anglers Club Surf Fishing Tournament at Cape Hatteras Recreational Sea Shore there was plenty of action for some teams who caught plenty of bluefish and some nice puppy drum.  The best spots were just north of Cape Point, in the Hook south of Cape Point and down near Hatteras Inlet.

    Up on the Avon beaches today sea mullet, puppy drum and bluefish were caught.  Around the Buxton beaches real good bluefish action, some puppy drum and a few flounder were reported.  Out at Cape Point in Buxton they caught bluefish, puppy drum, yearling drum and big red drum.. Over on the Frisco beaches bluefish and flounder were caught.  The Hatteras beaches had bluefish and sea mullet.

    No boats fished inshore and offshore today..

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today the winds were calm with partly sunny skies. The winds were from the south-west at 5-10 mph. The temperatures were in the mid 60’s.

    Tomorrow is the first day of the 57th Annual Cape Hatteras Anglers Club Surf Fishing Tournament at Cape Hatteras Recreational Sea Shore. Good luck to all the participants.

    On the Avon beaches today some sea mullet, black drum and bluefish were caught.  Around the Buxton beaches bluefish, puppy drum and one big red drum were reported.  Out at Cape Point in Buxton they caught bluefish, puppy drum, yearling drum and big red drum.. Over on the Frisco beaches a pretty good day of bluefish catches and puppy drum.  The Hatteras beaches had reports of flounder, bluefish and sea mullet

    The inshore boats had good catches of puppy drum, gray trout and bluefish in the Pamlico Sound today..

    The offshore fishing was slow today with a blackfin tuna and a wahoo caught aboard the only boat that fished.  .
