    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was just like yesterday  We had more sunny skies and calm winds.  The winds were from the north north-east at 5-10 mph and the temperatures were in the low 70’s.

    Around the Avon beaches there were bluefish and a few flounder reported.  On the Buxton beaches there were good bluefish and puppy drum catches.  Out at Cape Point in Buxton some big drum were caught last night and today the puppy drum and yearling drum fishing was pretty good. The big bluefish and false albacore also made a showing.  Over on the Frisco beach the bluefish bite was good.  Down on the Hatteras beach some bluefish and flounder were caught.

    The inshore boats had excellent catches of puppy drum today in the Pamlico Sound.

    The offshore boats had a decent day with good dolphin fishing and a few blackfin tuna and wahoo catches.  A sailfish was released today.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today we had sunny skies and calm winds.  The winds were from the north north-east at 5-10 mph and the temperatures were in the low 70’s.

    Up on the Avon beaches there were reports of puppy drum and bluefish.  On the Buxton beaches bluefish, puppy drum and black drum were reported.  Out at Cape Point in Buxton the puppy drum and bluefish bite was good in the morning and the yearling red drum showed up in the late afternoon.  The Frisco beaches had a few puppy drum, bluefish and sea mullet caught.  On the Hatteras beaches bluefish, a few flounder and pompano were reported.

    The inshore boats had good catches of puppy drum and some flounder and bluefish today in the Pamlico Sound.

    The offshore boats stayed tied to the dock today.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Early this morning at daybreak we had some rain and the rest of the day was nice and sunny with calm winds and a perfect temperature.  The winds were from the north-east at 5-10 mph and the temperatures were in the low 70’s.

    Up on the Avon and Buxton beaches there were reports of puppy drum, black drum, spot and bluefish caught.  On the Buxton beaches bluefish, puppy drum and some black drum were reported.  Out at Cape Point in Buxton the puppy drum and bluefish bite was good with some spanish mackerel mixed in. The Frisco and Hatteras beaches had a few puppy drum and pompano caught and good bluefish catches.

    The inshore boats had good catches of puppy drum and some gray trout today in the Pamlico Sound.

    The offshore boats had good dolphin catches, scattered wahoo and black fin tuna with some good tilefish and sea bass catches off the bottom.  There was a blue marlin, white marlin and a sailfish released from the Hatteras fleet today.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    It was an overcast day today,with a high of 75F.  We had north and northeast winds again today around 5-9 mph.

    Buxton had reports of black drum, bluefish and puppy drum.  Cape Point had spanish mackerel and bluefish.  Frisco beach had small pompano and bluefish.  Hatteras reports flounder, pompano, spot, sea mullet, small bluefish and puppy drum.

    The inshore boats caught puppy drum and speckled trout.  Here’s a picture of Laura Pitetti with one of her puppy drum caught this evening.

    The offshore boats had dolphin, wahoo and blackfin tuna catches today.  There were also a blue marlin and sailfish release.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    A beautiful, sunny day here on Hatteras Island with a high of 75F.  We had north and northeast winds today blowing 5-10 mph.

    Buxton beaches had bluefish and puppy drum reported today.  Frisco beach had reports of puppy drum, spot, sea mullet, bluefish and pompano.  Hatteras beach had reports of bluefish, sea mullet, spot and pompano.  There were puppy drum caught on the sound side as well.  Pictured below is Matt from New Jersey with his puppy drum caught at Ramp 49 today.  Nice fish Matt!

    The red drum fishing inshore is on fire.  The boats are catching their limits and releasing a lot of fish.  The offshore boats brought some dolphin, wahoo and blackfin tuna back to the docks today.  Those that bottomfished brought some triggerfish to the dock.  There was one blue marlin, three white marlin and one sailfish released today also.
