    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today we had clear skies with a high of 64F.  The winds were north-north-west all day anywhere from 6 to 13mph.  The cooler temperatures were nice to see.

    Avon and Avon Pier have reported bluefish, puppy drum, yearling size drum, sea mullet and spot.  Buxton, Cape Point area reports puppy drum and bluefish.  Frisco reports bluefish, puppy drum and black drum.  There is no report from Hatteras today.

    There is no inshore or offshore report for today, due to the winds.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    another great day for fishing. the temperature was in the lower 70′ with west-south-west wind 5-10 mph and sunny skies.

    From the beach the fishing counldn’t have been better. In Avon the bluefish and sea-mullet were biting. In Buxton there was bluefish, puppy drum, and even some flounder caught. From the beach in Frisco the blues, flounder, drum, and even some spot were biting. In Hatteras the bluefish, drum, sheeps head, and flounder were biting.

    Inshore boats had a rough day today the puppy drum bite was scattered but there was some caught.

    Offshore boats that fished had rough seas but caught fish. The dolphin and wahoo were biting there was a few sailfish released and a scattered blackfin tuna bite today. From the bottom there was some nice tilefish caught.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was another beautiful day to be out fishing. The sun was shining and with winds were north-west tuning west around noon at 5-10 mph. The temperature was around 70 throughout the day.

    From the beach today all kinds of fish were biting. From Avon there was sea-mullet, croaker, flounder, spot, and even some grey trout. In Buxton the puppy drum and bluefish were biting good. At the point there was a few nicer sized red drum caught. From Frisco beaches there was bluefish and sea-mullet. In hatteras there was some puppy drum sea-mullet and even some pompano caught.

    Inshore the boats returned with grey trout and bluefish earlier in the day with puppy drum showing up later in the day.

    Off shore the fishing was great. Some boats had limits of dolphin and a scattered wahoo and blakfin tuna bite. The bottom fishing was pretty good to with vermilion snapper and triggerfish caught.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was partly cloudy with cooler temperatures. The winds were from the south-west at 10-15 mph and the temperatures were in the low 70’s.  We are starting to see swell from Hurricane Gonzalo, a category 4 which is forcasted to hit Bermuda tomorrow afternoon.

    Up on the Avon beaches some sea mullet, small pompano , black drum and puppy drum were reported.  Around the Buxton beaches some bluefish and puppy drum were caught.  Pictured below is Eric Kwiatkowski with a puppy drum he caught o nthe Buxton beach today.  Pretty work Eric!!!puppy drum Buxton beach

    Out at Cape Point in Buxton puppy drum, yearling drum and bluefish were reported.  Over on the Frisco beach some bluefish and puppy drum were caught.  Down on the Hatteras beach the bluefish bite was really good with pompano, sea mullet and flounder caught.

    The few boats that fished offshore today had some decent dolphin fishing and the triggerfish and sea bass fishing was good.

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was windy with rain most of the day.. The winds were from the south-west at 15-25 mph and the temperatures were in the upper 70’s.

    Up on the Avon beaches some bluefish were reported.  Around the Buxton beaches some bluefish, black drum and puppy drum were caught.    Over on the Frisco beach some bluefish were reported.  Down on the Hatteras beach some bluefish and flounder were caught.

    There is no reports from the Inshore or offshore boats today due to the rough sea conditions.
