• Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today we had calm winds and sunny skies. The winds were from the west at 5-10 mph. The temperatures were in the mid 60’s.

    On the Avon beaches today some sea mullet, puppy drum and bluefish were caught.  Around the Buxton beaches bluefish and puppy drum were reported.  Out at Cape Point in Buxton  the bluefish action was good with puppy drum and big red drum also caught. Over on the Frisco and Hatteras beach the bluefish and puppy drum bite was pretty good..

    The inshore boats had good catches of puppy drum in the Pamlico Sound today..

    The offshore boats had a slower day catching some yellowfin tuna and king mackerel with a sailfish released by the “Godspeed” charter boat.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was a cool 57F, with winds blowing out of the NNW for most of the morning around 5-10 mph.  They did start calming down this afternoon.  It’s shaping up to be a nice day with warmer temperatures tomorrow.

    Avon beach had bluefish and sea mullet.  Cape Point had most of the action today.  This morning there were big drum, yearlings, puppy drum and bluefish.  This afternoon, puppy drum and bluefish.  Frisco beach had some puppy drum and bluefish.  Hatteras beach had some puppy drum, flounder, bluefish and sea mullet.

    There were no inshore boats out today.

    There was one offshore boat out today.  They came back with some triggerfish and tilefish.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    It was a cold and windy day on Hatteras Island.  We had a high of 48F and winds 15-20 mph out of the northwest, with higher gusts.

    A few fishermen tried their luck today.  Avon beach had some red drum.  Frisco reports a puppy drum, bluefish and sea mullet.  Hatteras had a 25 inch puppy drum today also.

    There is no inshore or offshore report for today.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    This morning started out nice with winds from the north-north-west at 5-10 mph. In the afternoon the clouds rolled in and the wind picked up to 15-20 mph north-north-west along with a scattered shower. The temperature dropped today to the upper 50’s.

    The fishing from the beach today was slow. In Avon the gray trout, sea-mullet, and bluefish were biting. Buxton the bluefish, puppy drum, and sea-mullet were caught. No report from the beach in Hatteras but in Frisco there was bluefish.

    Today the inshore boats were getting ready for the storm and staying out of the water.

    Offshore today the fishing was pretty good. There was some sailfish and a blue marlin released today along with a scattered dolphin bite. The king mackerel were biting good. only a few blackfin tuna were caught.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    The weather today wasn’t so great for fishing. The winds started out 10-15 mph from the north but laid out to 5-10 mph from the north in the afternoon. scattered rain showers throughout the morning and clouds kept the temperature down around 60 throughout the day.

    In Avon the fishing was probably better than anywhere else today. The gray trout, bluefish, sea-mullet, and spot were caught. In Buxton the drum were biting at the point along with a good bluefish bite. In Hatteras and Frisco the blues were about the only thing to be caught.

    The wind and rain shower kept all the inshore and offshore boats at the dock.
