Hatteras Island Fishing Report

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

Partly cloudy skies today but the wind was blowing hard in the morning. More north west winds 10-15 mph laying out as the day went on. The temperature was in the upper 50’s today.

After the second day of the 57th Annual Cape Hatteras Anglers Club Surf Fishing Tournament at Cape Hatteras Recreational Sea Shore the fishing wasn’t as good as yesterday but there was some bluefish and a few puppy drum caught.

The bluefish took the beaches over today. In Avon the bluefish, sea-mullet, and some puppy drum were caught. In Buxton there was yearling drum, sea-mullet, and some bluefish caught. Frisco beach the puppy drum and blues were biting. In Hatteras there was some black drum and bluefish caught.

No boats fished offshore today and only a few boats fished inshore  and only a few bluefish caught.
