Hatteras Island Fishing Report

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

Today was partly sunny with the winds increasing throughout the day.. The winds were from the south-west at 10-15 mph increasing to 15-25 mph after dark. The temperatures were around 70 degrees.

After the first day of the 57th Annual Cape Hatteras Anglers Club Surf Fishing Tournament at Cape Hatteras Recreational Sea Shore there was plenty of action for some teams who caught plenty of bluefish and some nice puppy drum.  The best spots were just north of Cape Point, in the Hook south of Cape Point and down near Hatteras Inlet.

Up on the Avon beaches today sea mullet, puppy drum and bluefish were caught.  Around the Buxton beaches real good bluefish action, some puppy drum and a few flounder were reported.  Out at Cape Point in Buxton they caught bluefish, puppy drum, yearling drum and big red drum.. Over on the Frisco beaches bluefish and flounder were caught.  The Hatteras beaches had bluefish and sea mullet.

No boats fished inshore and offshore today..
